My first day at Mar Theophilus Training College was just awesome. I was excited and anxious at the same time to begin a wholly new chapter in my life, 'To become a responsible Teacher'. I took English as my optional subject. The ambience changed all the worries in my mind. And that's why it became one of the best teacher's training colleges with a large history of 60+ years.
The first session began with a prayer by Keerthi. After that, Giby ma'am introduced the new students, including me, to the whole class. She gave us a golden chance to demonstrate our strengths and talents. She could make a bond with the students, with her active teaching skills. I felt her as a role model for a 'student teacher', who did a great job in making the students comfortable, particularly the new students.
The next session was handled by Maya ma'am, who explained the need of applying educational knowledge in life. She was also an inspiration for me as a beginner.
During the next session, Ancy ma'am taught us the types of communications and their definitions.
In the afternoon session by George sir, I got a chance to revisit the memories of my school sports days and also to renovate the physically vibrant person in me.
The final session of my first day was an introduction to software 'Activeinspire' by a representative from "Promethean" along with the tutorial to smartboard.
Every end is a new beginning. As my first day ends, I hope for a better time ahead; with new challenges, lessons and skills...
