Art and Aesthetics Visit

 Today, we visited the art museum in the name of the great artist Guru Gopinath. The Guru Gopinath Natanagramam has been established as a centre for learning, training and research in various Indian Dance forms, particularly Kerala Natanam, the dance form composed by the maestro Guru Gopinath.

Fourth day induction

The third day went fast with sanitization procedures. Today, the fourth day, after reaching the school we engaged in our discipline duties as the previous day. 

After that, we went for our demonstration class, which was handled by Deepa Joseph ma'am. She gave us an entire view of how to manage a class. Her way of asking questions, explaining the story, use of blackboard, creation of rapport, gestures etc were valuable lessons for us as evolving teachers. 

After lunch, we met our assigned teacher for giving us a class. Sajitha George ma'am gave us one of her classes. Me, along with my friend Nandana took the poem named "A prayer in the spring" by Robert Frost. The students responded properly. The teacher gave us her valuable feedback at the end of the session.

And another exciting day ended here. I got a golden opportunity to face students, to teach them, and to manage a classroom. Though I was a little bit nervous because of my lack of experience, it gave me more confidence to pursue a career in teaching.

Second day

Today, which was the second day of school induction, we all reached college by 8.45 am. Then we met the vice principal. He assigned duties for each of us to manage the students from the entrance to their respective classes. Then we visited the college premises. We also interacted with the IED students of the school. 

In the meeting held at 11 am, we got the list of our assigned teachers. 

In the afternoon, we met the respective teachers to ask for a demo class and an interactive session with students. 

For the first time, I was called and viewed as a teacher. It was a proud and blissful moment in my life.

വിദ്യാലയപ്പടി കടന്ന് ഒരുവട്ടം കൂടി

ഏഴ് വർഷങ്ങൾക്കിപ്പുറം വിദ്യാലയത്തിന്റെ പടിചവിട്ടുമ്പോൾ പേടിയോടെയും ആവേശത്തോടെയും ക്ലാസ്സ്മുറികളിലേക്ക് ഓടിയിരുന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ അല്ല ഞങ്ങളിന്ന്. അറിവിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം പകർന്നു നൽകാൻ പരിശീലനം നേടിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന അധ്യാപക വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളാണ്, ഭാവി അധ്യാപകരാണ്. സെന്റ് മേരീസ് ഹയർ സെക്കൻഡറി സ്കൂളിലേക്കാണ് school induction ന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരുപതുപേർ എത്തിയത്. ബാക്കിയുള്ളവർ മറ്റു പല സ്കൂളുകളിലേക്കും പോയിരുന്നു. ഗേറ്റ് കടന്നപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ കുട്ടികൾ വരിയായ് പോകുന്നത് കാണാമായിരുന്നു. 

ആദ്യംതന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ ഫാദർ ബാബു റ്റി സർ നെയാണ് കണ്ടത്. സ്കൂളിനെപ്പറ്റിയും, അധ്യാപകർക്ക് വേണ്ട ഗുണങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും അദ്ദേഹം ഞങ്ങളോട് സംസാരിച്ചു. വളരെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസമാണ് ആ വാക്കുകൾ നൽകിയത്. കൂടാതെ വൈസ് പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ ബിജു ഗീവർഗീസ്‌ സർ ന്റെയും സ്റ്റാഫ് സെക്രട്ടറി യുടെയും സ്വീകരണവും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് സന്തോഷം നൽകി. 

അതിനുശേഷം ഞങ്ങൾ സ്കൂൾ ലൈബ്രറി, ക്ലാസ് മുറികൾ, ഓഫീസുകൾ, ഗ്രൗണ്ട് എന്നിവ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു. 

സ്കൂൾ മാഗസിൻ വഴി സ്കൂളിലെ വിവിധ പരിപാടികൾ, ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ, അംഗീകാരങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെപ്പറ്റിയും അറിയാൻ സാധിച്ചു. ടീച്ചേഴ്സും മറ്റു സ്റ്റാഫുകളും വളരെയധികം ഞങ്ങളെ പിന്തുണച്ചു. 4 ദിവസങ്ങൾ ബാക്കിനിൽക്കെ സ്കൂളിനെപ്പറ്റി കൂടുതൽ ആഴത്തിൽ അറിയാനുള്ള ആകാംക്ഷയിൽ ആണ് ഞങ്ങൾ ഇന്ന് അവിടെനിന്നും ഇറങ്ങിയത്.

"Make and keep good relationships". This quote said by Giby ma'am just got stuck in me today. The positive energy given by a good relationship contributes most in the success of a person.

Today first hour was taken by Joju sir. Maths optional completed their seminars. The next one's were us, the English optional. Two of my classmates presented today. 

Next hour was taken by Giby ma'am. She gave us some small works to be completed after the induction programme. 

During the optional hour, we resumed our lesson plan discussion. We had college union elections during the lunch break.

Next hour Maya ma'am came. She gave us a glimpse of the school induction programme.

We assembled at the auditorium during the final hours. Benedict sir announced the names of the union members and selected the leaders for the school induction programme.

So for a short while we are taking a break from the atmosphere of a college. After a long gap, we are destined to enter the premises of a school from tomorrow. Hope it is a chance to rekindle old memories, and only a few would get this golden opportunity.

Day for Love

First two hours were optional class. We discussed lesson plans in groups. Next session was of Joju sir. he gave a description about the paper presentation in the International conference. Later, maths optional resumed their presentations.

The next hour, Maya ma'am divided us into groups and we discussed about Realism and aims of education.

The afternoon session was taken by Giby ma'am. Unfortunately we entered late in the class. Giby ma'am gave us a funny punishment. We presented an action song before the students and teacher. It was really enjoyable.😂

 There was a valentine corner outside the building. We took photos infront of it afteer the class. So many moments of bliss got freezed today.

Yoga Day

Morning got energetic with yoga today. We got the chance to do Tadasana, Natrajasana, Face yoga and some other postures. After that, Maya maam gave the feed back on the seminars conducted on last day. Then Kavya took the next seminar topic.

Next hour Joju sir came to our class and students of Maths optional resumed their seminars. They discussed about copyright, plagiarism, hacking, phishing and other illegal activities of technology.

The final hours were engaged by Benedict sir. He let us know about different clubs .

Offline again!!!!

After 2 weeks of online classes, our college reopened today. Classes started with a prayer. First hour was optional period. Two of the students took their seminar presentations today. Later Meekha ma'am divided us into groups and asked usto write about social constructivism. 

Then Maya ma'am came. She introduced us to the game of creating a story by connecting sentences told by each of the students. The game was enjoyable. She also played us a song for refreshment. 

During the PT period, we played Badminton at the ground.The final session was handled by our principal Benedict sir. He taught us Metacognition,Factors affecting Teacher Behaviour,Pupil variable,Teacher variable,Environment variable.
